A referendum was never intended to happen – let alone  an “in/out” one. Was there anyone who actually believed there would be?

Today peers voted by 245 votes  to 158, majority 87,

I don’t believe that we live in a democracy any more – the political class treat  us all with utter  contempt.  What are they afraid of?  If membership of the EU  is such a good idea, then people will vote for it.  If not, then surely better  for us to be out of it.  But let us assess the arguments and have our say!

There  is  no  chance  whatsoever  of  liar,  lefty  Cameron  allowing  this   country  to  withdraw  from  the   EC  even  if  a  referendum  produced  a   majority  to  do so   All  that  would  happen  is  that  Cameron  would  tinker  at  the  edges  of  some  treaty  or  other  and  resubmit  it  to  another   referendum  and  then  another  and  then  another  until  he  had  bored  us   into  acceptance.  It  happened  in  Ireland  and France and it will  happen   here

It will never happen, Since as far back as I can remember every party at one  time or another have promised a vote but it never happens. There is no benefit  to being in this union to normal people only business who can bring in all the  cheap Labour they want. When the British people voted for this we were told it  was a trade agreement nothing more and now we know it was a way to open up  borders and drive down wages.
