So totting all of the figures up to include votes, abstentions, and spoiled ballots, there were 47.5 million ballots, of which 20.6 million voted for Macron, and 10.7 million for Le Pen. So this is 43.4% for Macron, 22.5% for Le Pen, and the remainder, 34.1%, abstained or spoiled their ballots.
By my reckoning, 27 million voters didn’t want Macaron to become President.
10.7 million votes for the National Front. That should send shock waves through the EU Elite. Of course, it won’t & they will hail Macron & his victory as an endorsement of their policies. Rather than face the reality that they are actually feeding the fire that breeds the discontent sweeping through Europe.
Macron by blowing up the centre he’ll ready the ground for the far-Left and the far-Right.
Macron will alienate the centre-right with his open borders addiction and the centre-left with his neo-liberal policies.
The mainstream parties will have to decide whether they want to lose what’s left of their support by selling out to him or whether they want to obstruct him to save themselves, and that means gridlock.
The anti-Le Pen coalition will crumble as fast as the anti-Hillary coalition once the actual politics start. Macron can’t fix France’s problems (terrorism: open borders; economy: Euro too strong), he will become the ultimate symbol of the failures of globalism.
Only Macron and the old rotten globalist elite are happy with this result. The French- those who care for its sustainability as an independent nation- are not.
How long will he survive?
That’s anyone’s guess- whether his own corruption?- now these e mails can be looked at and discussed- will do for him as opposed to the total absence of anything resembling a workable (being the operative word) policy?
Technocrat plants never do well even in Europe (amongst its people, I mean, who, like the inmates of an asylum know someone who is just pretending) even without his baggage.
Just ponder how much ground the right wing parties have made in the last year. In Austria, Norbert Hofer was second. Netherlands, Geert Wilders was second and now in France Marine Le Pen was second. In all previous elections the front runners were always socialists, liberals or socialist liberals.
The tide is turning.
