MPs have demanded that tech firms be fined tens of millions of pounds for failing to remove ‘hateful’ material from their websites
Yes but what is hate?
So often telling the truth is regarded as hate these days.
And just who is going to decide what is and what is not ‘hateful material’ ?
Typical of the politicians. There are real people out there actively spreading hate and inciting to murder, that the security forces know about and yet they leave them alone.
Instead we get this smoke screen and illusion of action which sweeps people into the criminal net for being nothing more than a bit of an annoying dick or being injudicious in their language.
In the end people end up frightened to open their mouths or to hold a strong opinion for fear of being arrested or smeared as a bigot or racist.
Meaningless hashtag politics which sweeps real problems under the carpet and addresses non of them.
George Orwell’s book 1984 prophesied all of this, it’s uncanny …. “the Thought Police (Thinkpol) are the secret police of the superstate Oceania, who discover and punish thought crime, personal and political thoughts unapproved by the Party.
The government of Oceania, dominated by the Inner Party, use the Newspeak language to control the speech, actions, and thought of the population, by defining “unapproved thoughts” as thoughtcrime and crimethink; for such actions.
Among the means for maintaining social control, the Thought Police operate a false flag resistance movement, to lure ideologically disloyal members of the Party to identify themselves for arrest”
It was written as a warning – the government is using it as a blueprint.
