Most ordinary people just want politicians to make their lives better,.
Britain has turned into nanny state in the past 20 years. There are dos and dont’s for everything these days and many of them written into law.
Those that aren’t written into law are policed by that large section of society that think of themselves as liberal thinkers yet only have a narrow avenue of acceptables.
Most ordinary people want the government to give them the opportunity to make their own lives better. A level playing field and for the government to stay in the background.
Moreover, the prejudice against the people and the history of England in education together with the constitutional imbalance (why no English Parliament?) is insufferable. We feel forgotten, neglected and disappointed.
Labour no longer represents the English working class. When Labour started to become obsessed with identity politics and political correctness they were already leaving their core vote behind. You can’t spew out a continual anti white, anti English, anti Christian mantra without upsetting a large number of voters.
Labour decided there are cheaper, easier votes in immigrants and the working class would still turn out for the party no matter what, those that didn’t could be coerced with welfare for the job they lost to the same migrants or, in the worst case, discarded as ‘racists’.
Labour has long been a coalition between the working class and the liberal middle class. However it seems to have entirely abandoned the interests of the former in favour of people who don’t even have a vote.
British politicians are slowly waking up to the fact that unless they start being responsive to peoples concerns then the people will find someone else to vote for. Even now they’re still trying to dismiss this fact by labelling it as populism, something to be ignored or dismissed. Of course it’s called democracy, but many in Westminster have been there so long they’ve forgotten they can ever be removed.
Labour gambled on its core vote having nowhere else to go. Well, now they do.
It a a surprise that it has taken this long to penetrate Labour’s traditional fiefdoms.
