Yes it’s a police state.

The UK. A country with less than 1% of the world’s population but a fifth of the world’s CCTV cameras.

It comes to something when people in the UK have to take to the streets because their basic fundamental rights have been stolen from them by the state. And I’m not talking about pseudo-liberal “rights” that essentially amount to ‘politicised moaning’ by various self-interest groups. I’m talking about basic, fundamental things: the right to work; the right to earn a living and put food on the table for our families; the right to enjoy nature and the company of friends; the right to move about freely in our own society: the right not to feel constantly afraid of the consequences should we stray too close to another human being.

The damage is already done and much of it is irreversible. This “lockdown” was a massive mistake and its cost will be felt for generations to come.

“No, it’s not a police state,” declared a posh gentleman, the lockdown, he insisted, was purely in the public interest.’

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

― C. S. Lewis

The continuing lockdown is not about politicians protecting their backs it is about politicians refusing to ever admit they were wrong.

Yes it’s a police state.
